BEIRUT -- Lebanese daily ****Al-Nahar**** said on Monday the United States considers the Iraqi regime more dangerous than the regimes in Iran and North Korea.

The daily added that from the United States' viewpoint the regime of Iraq which is developing non-conventional weapons is of high danger for the world peace.

The daily wrote that despite the fact that the United States introduced Iran, North Korea as other parts of the axis of evil, Washington believes that Tehran and Pyong Yang are likely to come to negotiations table with Washington.

The daily further said that the United States is to use all its capabilities in the war against Iraq. It said though the U.S. has profited from the help of the northern alliance in Afghanistan in its war against the Taleban but in Iraq the circumstances would be quite different, IRNA reported.

It said while some Arab states such as Saudi Arabia are likely to adopt a reticent stand, other U.S. allies such as Turkey would sided with the United States in its war against Iraq.

U.S. President George W.Bush had in his State of the Union address termed Iran, Iraq and North Korea as "axis of evil" and accused them of attempting to develop weapons of mass destruction.

**** Al-Nahar**** further commented on the U.S. war-mongering actions and tactics as well as the country's expansionist policies which pose a serious threat to the world peace and stability.

It hinted that the United States is after imposing its expansionists policies under the pretext of the fight against terrorism following the September suicide attacks on the U.S. large cities.

Press reports said U.S. officials recently added Syria, Cuba and Libya in the list of countries the United States claims to be parts of an "axis of evil".

Syria accused Washington of designing ploys to create divisions in the countries while terming such moves the U.S. bullying tactics.

The daily ****Ath-Thawra**** reported that following the statements by U.S. deputy secretary of state who said a few days ago that Syria, Cuba and Libya are also parts of an axis of evil, Syria protested at Washington saying the U.S. is itself hatching ploys to re-demarcate the national borders of the countries.

The daily said the U.S. officials claims as for the countries described as parts of an axis of evil are "unsubstantiated" and the U.S. claims in this connection are sheer lies.
